Everyday we are bombarded with information: from television, radio, the internet, books, news papers, music, word of mouth, and personal experiences. This information often just begins to scrape the surface of a subject and it is up to the individual to delve deeper. By doing this one can achieve a greater understanding of what is going on around us and how our actions ripple outwards. In my work I explore the bombardment of information in order to gain a greater understanding of the world and to contemplate on how I can affect it. I will often start off with a single idea, image, or thought and begin building and branching out from there. My work becomes a growing and evolving process of thought.
These thought processes are not completely objective. There are instances of spontaneous thought, emotional outbursts, personal sentiments, and crude or humorous elements. These elements are reflective of the constantly fluctuating way we think and may be linked in a more subconscious way. The viewer is presented with a handful of facts, ideas, and questions in hopes that they may think and research further.
